Black Cat Café opened its doors December 1, 2007 and has been dedicated to serving both simple and extraordinary breakfast & lunch in an inviting atmosphere. The proprietress is a late blooming, inspired cook and a local resident. She and her husband are passionate gardeners of organic herbs, heirloom vegetables and garden flowers.
Black Cat Cafe's menu is designed with an emphasis on proprietary cuisine using the freshest ingredients possible. Menu items are all natural and made with as many organic ingredients as available. We serve both breakfast and lunch daily with an extensive beverage menu including specialty coffees and teas along with whole vegetable and fruit juice mixes, smoothies, seasonal favorites including our extensive hot chocolate menu and house-brewed iced teas and mulled ciders.
The cafe brews mainly Kenyan micro-lots as its bean of choice along with an exceptional, traditional Italian blend of espresso and finally a mellow Guatamalan decaf bean. Kenyan beans are complex and are classified as a Medium body but we've always felt those beans to be Bold with a bit of funk and because the beans vary slightly from lot to lot, we feel it keeps the coffee palette alive.
Desserts by local and regional pastry chefs will add scrumptious essence to your everyday and we offer the best coffees from around the world, locally roasted and served at its freshest. Coffee Beans are never canned and are Fair Trade Certified, Rainforest Alliance & Bird Friendly Certified.
Catering & Special Events are are now being offered; we've hosted birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers and holiday events both on and off site. Check out our catering menus. If you have special cuisine requests, feel free to contact us, we can come up with a menu that will suit your needs.
The café also offers an eclectic, rotating line of original works of art from our local art community and works from abroad with the help of our art dealers.
